Electrical & Computer Diagnostics

Auto electrical fault finding and computer diagnostics — warning lights, no-starts, sensors, wiring and control modules.

When you need this

  • Warning lights on the dashboard
  • Car will not start, or starts intermittently
  • Battery goes flat when the car is left standing
  • Electrical items working only sometimes
  • Central locking, windows or lights behaving oddly
  • A fault that other garages could not find

What's included

Modern cars are networks as much as machines. A single warning light can come from a sensor, the wiring to it, or the module reading it — and replacing parts on the strength of a fault code alone is how bills grow without the problem going away.

We read every control module with dealer-grade equipment, then trace the circuit with a meter and a wiring diagram to find where the fault actually sits. You get told what failed, what it costs to put right, and what we ruled out along the way.

Battery drains, intermittent electrical faults and no-start conditions are all diagnosed the same way: measured, not guessed.

Included work

  • Full control-module scan with live data
  • Wiring, earth and circuit testing with a meter
  • Parasitic battery-drain testing
  • Sensor, switch and control-module replacement
  • Starting and charging system diagnosis
  • Module coding and programming after replacement

Common questions

Can you find a fault another garage could not?

Often, yes — intermittent electrical faults are usually missed because the circuit was never tested under the conditions that make it fail. We test the circuit rather than reading the code alone, and we tell you honestly if the fault cannot be reproduced.

How long does diagnosis take?

A scan and initial assessment is usually under an hour. Tracing an intermittent electrical fault can take longer, and we agree the diagnostic time with you before we start rather than letting it run.

Do I have to have the repair done here?

No. You are welcome to take the diagnosis elsewhere. You will be given the findings in writing either way.
